JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The summer period is from week 23 to week 35, but we also offer you the opportunity to attend an earlier introduction and work as a substitute during the spring before the summer position begins. Please note that regardless of your start date, you need to be able to complete a two-week paid introduction full-time during the spring to feel well-prepared and completely secure in the role when the summer position starts.

As a correctional officer, you will be part of a team where you have daily contact with the client. The tasks at the prison and remand center vary: work in care, surveillance, searches, and security are mixed with release planning, conversations, and motivational work. Working at the remand center places special demands on you as a correctional officer, as clients may be detained for long periods without meeting anyone other than their lawyer and the remand staff. Therefore, we place great importance on your personal suitability.

QUALIFICATIONS

As a correctional officer, you need to possess a high level of personal maturity by being secure and having good self-awareness. Since you and your colleagues form the core of our operations, you need to have good collaboration skills and be both attentive and clear in your communication with both clients and staff. It is important that you are stable and can exercise good self-control in stressful or pressured situations. In the role of correctional officer, good judgment is also required when prioritizing, acting, and making decisions. You have a physical condition that enables you to act physically when the situation demands it.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Work experience. Internships and volunteer work are not accepted as work experience.
• Completed high school education or other education combined with work experience that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service deems relevant.
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form.
• Good computer skills.

It is advantageous if you also have:

• A valid driver's license (B).
• The ability to work the entire summer period or almost the entire period.
• Work experience from correctional services, security work, social care, psychiatry, or healthcare and social work.
• Knowledge in relevant fields such as behavioral science, criminology, psychiatry, law, and conflict management.
• Good administrative skills, for example in report writing, record keeping, and other types of text processing.
• Relevant language skills in speech.

OTHER

We have high demands on our employees' awareness of security and confidentiality. To work with us, you need to undergo a security screening in accordance with the Security Protection Act. For this position, a security screening interview will be conducted before a hiring decision is made. During the security screening, you as a person, your background, and your relationships will be investigated from a security perspective. You will receive more information about the security screening during your job interview.
